DESIGN GUEST SPEAKER SERIES

The School of Art’s Graphic Design department is excited to announce the guests in its speaker series for the 2020-2021 academic year. Invited guests represent a multitude of diverse practices and perspectives on the current state of the discipline.

All conversations are open to the public unless otherwise noted, and will take place virtually using Zoom. Attendance is limited to 1,000 participants, so should any event approach that limit, access will be available on a “first come first served” basis. All participants will be placed in a waiting room until the event begins and will be muted upon admittance to the virtual space, with questions limited to School of Art MFA students.

JULIAN BITTINER APPOINTED ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF GRAPHIC DESIGN STUDIES

JULY 15, 2020

The Yale School of Art is pleased to announce Senior Critic Julian Bittiner has been appointed Assistant Director of Graphic Design Studies. He will work alongside the program’s Director of Graduate Studies in Graphic Design Sheila Levrant de Bretteville. De Bretteville shared, “Julian, as Assistant Director of Graphic Design Studies, brings a new kind of balance and partnering. He adds an engaged and thoughtful leadership style, and together we will begin to enhance and shape our area of study in relationship to the other areas of study here at the Yale School of Art.”

A.L. STEINER APPOINTED ASSISTANT DEAN FOR PLANNING AND RELATIONS

JUNE 10, 2020

Dean Marta Kuzma of the Yale School of Art announces the appointment of A.L. Steiner as Assistant Dean for Planning and Relations with the aim to foster increased collaboration amongst colleagues and students across all areas within the graduate and undergraduate programs. Beginning as Assistant Dean for Planning and Relations on July 1st, 2020, Steiner will work closely with the Dean to provide strategic guidance in relations between students and the SoA community, between the School and faculty, and between the School and the University, as well as working with the Dean in fostering a dialogue and programming around research opportunities.
